On Friday, 13 February, an open seminar titled “Bridging Global Environmental Challenges and the SDGs through Environmental Technologies” was held at the Toranomon Arsea Tower Conference. Building on the 10th anniversary of the WIPO GREEN project two years ago, JIPII and the IP Collegium launched a three-year collaborative initiative on SDG-related activities. This seminar marked the culmination of that initiative in its third year.

The seminar aimed to provide practical insights into “effective matching processes” that connect Japan’s environmental technologies with real environmental challenges overseas. Speakers shared successful case studies, on-the-ground needs, and discussions on current issues and potential improvements for existing environmental technology platforms. Members of the SDGs Working Group of the Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA) and other experts delivered presentations, followed by an active exchange of views.

In addition, JIPII introduced environmental technology projects created by children from Italy and Japan, submitted to the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) 2025, offering perspectives from the next generation.

More than 50 participants—including IP Collegium members and intellectual property professionals in Japan—joined the event.
