| Promotion of Young People's Creativity |
| In order to continue the growth of an industrial
economy based on the development of science
and technology in the future, it is indispensable
to foster the creative ability and imaginative
ability of young people who pave the way
for subsequent generations in Japan. The JIII expects that schoolchildren will experience the rewards"of creating something"and will grow up in to talented individuals having great respect for science and creative powers. |

| Invention Clubs for Schoolchildren |
| Since 1974 when the 70th Anniversary of its foundation was celebrated, JIII has made efforts to set up Invention Clubs for Schoolchildren throughout the country for the purpose of fostering children' s dreams and passion for science and technology while respecting their unrestrained imagination, and the building up of their creative characters. At the present time, 145 Clubs have been set up in 47 prefectures in Japan with the cooperation of local self-governing bodies and science museums 100,000 schoolchildren and junior high school students in total per year perform work practice, social observation-study and field study in such places as scientific camp. In addition, engineers of enterprises voluntarily visit the Clubs to give lectures on work practice, experiments, etc. Thus, the Invention Clubs carry out active and creative activities. |
| International Exchange and Promotion of
Young People's Creativity The JIII sends young people, who have exhibited excellent works in the yearly exhibition sponsored by the JIII, to foreign countries as Overseas Delegates for the Development of Young People's Creativity to provide them the opportunity to learn about science, technology, culture, history, and modes of living, in various foreign countries for the young people who will pave the way for subsequent generations, thereby allowing an active exchange between young people of the same generation in foreign countries and deepening mutual understanding amongst them. |
| Research for the Promotion of Young People's
Creativity Research and analyses are made into curriculums and methods of guidance, which are effective for the development of creativity, and also influence the progress of creative ability on the basis of the results of the activity of the Invention Clubs for Schoolchildren. The JIII conducts research for contributing to a more effective promotion of young people's creativity. |
